Today’s Featured Breakout Stock

Credicorp Ltd. (BAP) 50.09, up 4.07 - Breakpoint 46.50

Earnings To Rise 26%, TTD Sees Shot a 58

BAP, based in Lima, Peru, is the holding company for several financial services companies operating in Latin America. Annual revenues: $705 million. BAP breaks out powerful today to hit a new high. The stock is a leader. Volume is running at 532,200 shares, double its normal daily volume of 237,000 shares.

{short description of image}

BAP is active in commercial banking, insurance, investment, and other financial services through its stakes in Banco de Crédito, Peru's largest and oldest commercial bank.

Its El Pacífico-Peruano Suiza subsidiary sells a variety of insurance. Subsidiary Atlantic Security serves Peruvian private-banking customers in Panama.

BAP established Prima AFP, a private pension fund operator, in 2005, and acquired AFP Union, a Peruvian pension fund, from Banco Santander in 2006.

Today, the Central Reserve Bank of Peru started a process of raising the limits on foreign investments made by private pension funds to 13.5% from 12%.

{short description of image}

A look at TTD's clip of the tape shows that BAP got off to a strong start in the morning.

A big block of 10,000 shares crossed the tape on a big up tick to $47.75 from the prior trade at $46.02. That was a big jump in price and showed very aggressive institutional buying.

Technically, BAP looks very good for bulls. The stock's TTD momentum indicator is strongly bullish. (see top of the chart). The accumulation - distribution line (bottom of the chart) has hit a new high. That is very good confirmation that the price rise in the stock is supported by strong buying.

This year, BAP's earnings should climb 26% to $3.58 a share from the anticipated $2.84 a share in 2006. The stock sells with a price-earnings ratio of 13. TTD sees that as low making BAP a very good value-growth play. That is because its earnings growth rate is well above the p/e ratio.

The company will report net for 2006 soon. The Street is expecting a 24% gain to $2.84 a share from the $2.28 in 2005.

Strategy Opinion: BAP is acting very strong supported by strong earnings. TTD suggests a full position on this breakout. We are calling for the stock to advance to 58 within a few months. A protective stop can be placed near 44.80. TTD rates BOP a very good intermediate-term play.

Sponsorship: Not available.

Insider Activity: Not available. Currently, 5 analysts follow the stock, 3 have a buy, up from 2 three months.

Commentary on TTD’s Feature Bear Play

Shuffle Master Inc. (SHFL) - 25.15

SHFL, based in Las Vegas, sells or leases more than 18,000 of its single- and multi-deck automatic card shuffling devices, which in addition to the company's chip sorting devices, help increase casino security. Annual revenues: $164 million. SHFL moves sharply lower today on a big expansion in volume. The action triggers a TTD short. So far today, SHFL is down 2 points. Volume is running at 3.5 million shares, five times its normal daily volume of 750,000 shares.

{short description of image}

The selling pressure remains on the stock. A look at TTD's clip of the tape shows a big block of 15,000 shares crossing on a down tick at $25.10 in the afternoon from the prior trade at $25.11.

SHFL's stock has been acting weak. It peaked at 32 in December. Afterwards it fell to 25, had a burp rally and is now rolling over violently. That is just what bears want.

The company also develops table games with names like Let It Ride, Three Card Poker, Fortune Pai Gow Poker, Royal Match 21, and Casino War. About 3,600 of its table games can be found with the company's card shufflers. The private equity firm Wind Point Partners owns 66% of SHFL's stock.

SHFL is expected to show a weak fiscal first quarter ending Jan. 31. Profits should be up only 5% to 21 cents a share from 20 cents a year ago. The lowest estimate on the Street is at 18 cents a share. If that is violated - and it could happen - the stock should take a hit on the downside.

Technically, the stock looks good for bears. The TTD momentum indicator (top of the chart) is starting to dip into the bearish zone. The accumulation - distribution line has been trending lower for several months. That indicates steady selling. TTD is targeting SHFL for a decline to 20 within the next few months. TTD sees the stock as a good short trading play.
