TTD's daily chart shows the clean breakout today. The stock's technicals are extremely strong. The TTD momentum indicator is strong bullish (see top of the chart).

The accumulation - distribution line has turned up strongly. (see bottom of the chart) That shows the stock's advance is being supported by good demand. The stock's long-term chart shows the solid up trend for the stock.

For the upcoming first quarter, UCTT has forecast net to be 22 to 27 cents a share. That is roughly a 100% improvement over the 12 cents a share earned a year ago. It said revenues should range between $102 to $110 million.

Gross margin for the fourth quarter of 2006 was 15.2%, compared to 14.8% for the third quarter of 2006, and 13.6% for the same period a year ago. The company is doing very well with its facility in Shanghai.

This year, UCTT's earnings should climb 33% to $1.11 a share from 83 cents a share a year ago. TTD sees the company with potential to top that estimate. The stock sells with a modest price-earnings ratio of just 15, which is half the growth rate in profits.

Going out to fiscal 2008, UCTT's profits should increase 37% to $1.51 a share. So, the long-term outlook for profits is excellent.

Strategy Opinion: UCTT's breakout today is impressive. TTD suggest a full position in UCTT. We are targeting the stock for a move to 22 within a few months. A protective stop can be placed near 15.80. TTD rates UCTT an excellent intermediate-term play because of the strong profit outlook.

Also 5-star rated Bridgeway Ultra Small Company Fund was a recent purchaser of 118,000 shares. There was not much selling recently by the top fund holders.

Commentary on TTD’s Feature Bear Play

Casella Waste Systems Inc. (CWST) - 9.88

CWST, based in Rutland, Vt., is a waste-service firm that provides collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services primarily in the northeastern United States. CWST falls sharply today in heavy trading to click in a short play. The stock's decline today was triggered by its report of a loss for the fiscal third quarter ended Jan. 31.

{short description of image}

CWST reported a loss of 7 cents a share for the third quarter compared with a profit of 2 cents a share a year ago. Revenues rose 2% for the quarter. The company said results were hurt by the slowdown in the housing market and unseasonably warm weather.

So far today, CWST is trading 477,355 shares, five times its normal daily volume of 90,000 shares.

TTD's clip of the tape highlights a big block of 10,000 share that traded on a modest down tick to $9.85.

CWST's loss was a big surprise to the Street and the stock got punished. Most on the Street expected a breakeven. For the year, analysts see a loss.

Technically, CWST is acting very bearishly. The stock's TTD momentum indicator (top of the chart) is now in the bearish zone. Most importantly, the accumulation - distribution line is in a sharp down trend indicating clear selling pressure. TTD is targeting CWST for a decline to 6.50 within the next few months, or sooner.
